treats :) ..........

..week 3 of the summer hols ( yes I am counting ) things are calming down a bit now, I have to say the boys were beyond hyper when they first broke up and I truly wondered if it was ever going to ease up.... but we had a little jolly over to my lovely Mums in Yorkshire and it seems to have done the trick.....

I took my crochet and Mr H brought a book, the boys spent everyday outside with their new friends, building dens, climbing trees, biking, running and chasing......

I even got to do a bit of shopping on my own and treated myself to some new fabric for a little project I am thinking of.....
(shed related obviously)

and I also spotted some lovely yarn in Boyes.......now bearing in mind I do like a noodle round the shops but in school holidays I always have 1 or 2 boys plus a dog with me that's not too easy to pull off.... so I LOVE a shop that sells everything...where else could I have bought

*lovely stylecraft wool
*a swimming hat
*a waterproof padlock
*pretty rose bud and gingham fabrics
*hairdressing scissors
*dog food

........random but brilliant :)

Thankyou for your kind words about the 'shed'
it is a very humble little dwelling and still has yet to get a proper roof but you can find me gazing at it lovingly from the kitchen window when I should be making dinner :)

hope you are having a lovely week

**note added : I knew as soon as I wrote it that it would come back and bite me on the bum, but the calm didn't last long.... just as I pressed publish.. there was a big bang.....which was apparently a little 'tiff' and a broken bed  :) :) :) I keep smiling ...I enjoyed it while it lasted x

Climbing back on the wagon........

...when technology lets you down and your sewing machine plays up and the car makes funny noises and blogger starts behaving like a naughty two year old and its all a bit *bobbins*... the best thing you can do is bury your head in a pile of lovely colours and hopefully when you pop your head out again after a week or so..it all sorts itself out :-) and you might have a nice blanket to show for your troubles

Yesterday... the other Jane and I had a lovely little day trip to my home town Leeds, I'd forgotten how much I love that city, even though it's only and hour away I don't get back that often, we had such a nice day and came home with little bags bursting with ribbons, wool, fabrics, treats for the boys and Arnie and big smiles on our faces :-)

This is one of my favourite sights, the Ivanhoe clock in a sweet Victorian arcade...we stood and watched it chime on the hour many times when I was a little girl (I don't think I noticed back then how short the mens 'skirts' were!)

So hopefully I'm back on the wagon now and looking forward to catching up with you all :-)

Next week it will be year since I started this blog and littleteawagon so I am planning a little giveaway to celebrate all the bad spelling and punctuation I've notched up :-)

Have a lovely week

P.S *bobbins* is an excellent word, I think made up in Manchester meaning 'rubbish'.... it's such a great description and I say it often, even when things aren't very *bobbins

There is a light and it never goes out.........

Oh yes I can make my posts relate to Smiths song titles (honestly)

....it's been a funny old week, do you ever have times where you can't remember how one minute you're making little garlands......the next you're making tea...then you're sewing up new bags.....then parents evening....more sewing....cleaning the toilet....more sewing.. crochet....dog walking....then before you know it your 30 feet underground with 25 Cubs in an air raid shelter!!???!!

For someone who is claustrophobic and scared of the dark it was quite a night! When someone suggested a black out down there (torches off!!)...well I was running towards the light quicker than you could say "don't trip over your battery pack" (which of course I did)

Anyway I made it back and managed to finish the bags, one of which will be a giveaway prize next week....I will post the details about this on Sunday as its not going to be on this blog... but it promises to be a week of wonderful things to win :)

Charlie Brown and Pillowcases

As another half term holiday approaches, I'm wondering where the days are going?!?! I feel like I'm peddling up a steep hill and not getting anywhere......Oh no that would be me on my exercise bike, which after only a week is now wearing vintage pillowcases to hide the fact that I haven't got time to go on it...

Anyway I'm looking forward to not...... rushing about, doing school runs, ironing hideous maroon sweatshirts and just generally having some time to ourselves....to watch my favourite..... Charlie Brown and read another J.otto Seibold book which is just as lovely as his christmas one :)

Olive-My-Love-

And hopefully pick up some wool and get on with a little crochet project, I've been looking at all the lovely things that you've been making and I'm feeling the need to get back on the wagon (parden the pun)

Have a lovely week

New things...

I feel like I've been neglecting my littleteawagon shops lately, but its all been about searching,sourcing,washing,folding,ironing,measuring....more searching, taking pics, more searching..... I am getting worried that the fabric I search in vain for will eventually run out, but then I tell myself maybe I'll just have to start printing my own if that happens :)
Its great finding a new design that makes your heart go skippy, like this one..a fluffy kind of brushed cotton (I'm loving brushed cotton!!).....I have many plans for this but I did put a bit aside for the shop .

So if the shelves were looking a bit bare, I'm hoping to get them filled with some new fabrics and garlands by the weekend :)

Pumpkins and Squirrels

The weeks are whizzing by and another half term looms, so I have been busy making and searching and fiddling and changing and fiddling and changing and re-arranging.

In another life I was a graphic designer and I miss playing around with images, so too often I find myself changing the logo in the shop or re-doing the title on here...it's good to mix things up a bit I think...nothing stays the same for long..................

Much like these two........

.......boys..I love 'em but I cannot work them out!

littleteawagon the shop is 6 months old on monday, I feel I should do something to mark the occasion but fear I will be up to my neck in mess, boys, zombies, dog, pumpkins and lots of orange stuff!(of the £shop kind)
Have a good week :)

SHOCK absorbers

I'm ashamed to say that I left someone out of the toilet roll family photo's.... I can't believe I did because he is the one thing that is constantly by my side, always happy to see me and eternally gratefull of everything I do... Sorry little Arn, I hope I have made amends!!!

On another note, I shouldn't really be here right now, I was supposed to be noodling around the Trafford Centre with a promise of maybe a little treat from the Cath K shop,a bite to eat and a film!!!! (boys away at grandparents!!) But in reality something fell off the car halfway there which resulted in us sitting in a shell garage forecourt, 'herman' munching on a cheese and onion pasty!( I politely declined ) Then being towed home, just in time for the neighbours to see me do a ridiculous Norman Wisdom-like trip getting down from the HUGE steps at the side of the truck! Yay!! It'll just have to be a bottle of wine and Kingpin again x x x x

Obsession

At the moment our house is full of piles!! Not nice ones like this one above, I love..love this pile!!! And I love this one.....

This is my total so far of crocheted blankets, in various colours and patterns, no two the same, very random!

Each room in the house has at least one now and all have a little or a lot of pink in them, which isn't bad considering I live in a house full of boys!!

Even our little dog has one.
I think this obsession may be coming to an end now but I already know what will be taking up most of my (rare) spare time this summer......
