Hi - Jinx over ...well almost

..... half term has been and gone.... I apologise for lack of posts and comments recently but I made a promise to myself that when the boys are off school I should spend a lot less time staring at a screen......so
I bundled some wool into a bag and went over to Yorkshire for a few days to see my lovely Mum and sisters..the boys spent their time mostly up a tree and Arnie gets about seven walks a day:)

new blanket on the go....

I have no idea what Halloween is all about these days.....but for me its an excuse to decorate the home, dig out my sisters of mercy records, pop on a wig and have a bit of fun :)

as I spent most of my teenage years dressing like it was halloween everyday I like to be a bit more colourful these days........(I'm thinking Mars Attacks girl alien)

Have a lovely week

half term hi - jinx...... (not as exciting as it sounds)

Another half term is here....I am racking my brains to come up with Autumn crafts that I actually like....so far we have made these little owls.....very easy, just two little stuffed shapes with felt features ( glued on as it all went a bit pear shaped with a needle and thread )

we also hunted out this little make from a few years ago, after spotting a little squirrel home in a tree.......
inspired by Wind in the Willows it was made from a box which we cut a door into and then decorated inside and out....
I think Mr Mole upgraded to a riverside loft when the housing market was good a few years ago so Mrs Deer moved in with her gingham rug and a few good books...

I have plans for this little abode......think...winter wonderland.....christmas grotto

I leave you with our favourite makes from last october holiday.....I can't find the real roll models anywhere I think they have upped and left for a better life (or worse the recycle bin )

Hope you are having a lovely week :)

grannies a go-go.........

Due to the rubbish weather I have got a lot of crochet done this week, but having no room for any more blankets I made the grannies into more little garlands for the shop

sometimes the best bit is choosing the colours :)

and then there is the photo taking....... these were taken on the darkest day of the year....

I'm thankful for photo editing on that score :)

Wishing you a nice evening and that the sun comes out to play tommorrow :)

Friday 7 October 2011

little blue guy...I love you .......

it has been a little crazy around here these past weeks, the heatwave, shed distractions, another birthday, lots of lego, lego cake....(pressure!) lego party (more pressure!).......school decisions...(even more pressure!)
...... in the midst of it all I find a creepy little cupboard which is just the right size for holding my faberdashery....so I find my tins of paint...trying to remember that I was to use up left-over paint to save pennies....

but after 3 different colours....it still wasn't right so I pop in to Mr H's shed (yes he works in a shed too!) to have a little moan........and spot this little guy :) .......then I remember the fab photo above  in MM 's first issue and I'm in the car on the way to the diy store before you can say 'thunderbirds are go!'

finally after a lot of rubbing, sanding and huffing (and worse)  I repainted it, finished the insides with a pretty vintage wallpaper and some fabric and filled it with my little trims and notions :)

it was obviously always meant to be this colour .....

and as for Mr Tracy well he was obviously always meant to live with me :)

wishing you a happy autumn sun filled weekend
