out comes the blue....again.....

...today found me doing lots of things I shouldn't and not much of what I should...but I had a good excuse, after spending quality time in my little work 'space' I have found a few things needed to be changed..like storage...... so out with the old and in with the new (to me)

.....it wasn't pretty, with its mirrored back and glass drinks shelf but it was just the right size and had everything I needed so I handed over my £25 and squeezed it into the back of the car.....

......and there it sat .....
for about ten minutes!
I had bought white paint for it but before I knew it ...the Thunderbird paint was out again....

...then out came the wallpapers......my favourite sticky back plastic in blue gingham and suddenly
there it was  :)

I am a bit of a whirling dervish when it comes to painting furniture...no tea on the table...no dog walked ..until it's done...
are you a nifty swifty painter?
or a deliberator?

  12. Love it! I'm a bit like you. I get something, have an idea in my head and have to do it. Then I have to keep at it until it's done. Having said that, i'm slacking though. I have two items bought destined for makeovers, and I have them for two weeks and still they are as they are! Think I must be ill! So, for now, i'll just settle for looking at your speedy makeovers and drool like crazy!

    Have a beautiful day Jane......xxxxxxxxxx

  13. I'm probably not very speedy when it comes to makeovers, however I definitely forgo housework, making supper etc... In pursuit of something more crafty...infect I'd forgo those for most everything!

    Lovely new storage, great makeover!

  14. So pretty! I'm into turquoise nowadays, so anything blue will catch my eye. I wish I am nifty swifty with my crafts like you are, but I tend to deliberate too much. However, once I'm done deliberating, I can be at it forever and forget other less interesting responsibilities. =D

  15. What a delightful makeover such a perfect way to store your goodies!
I'm a thinker then a fast doer when I get painting, my partner is a 'do it properly person' you know strip, prime, undercoat, sand I must confess I sometimes wait till he's out then slap the paint around. I tell him I'm an ARTIST darling!!!

  22. Hi Jane,
I love, Love, LOVE your blog! And what a fortunate day for me to find you! It has been -9 degrees here is Duesseldorf today, and there seems to be NO colour anywhere (it hasn't snowed, but everything's just so pale). So, stumbling upon such a gorgeously bright, colourful, happy place was bliss!!!
Your cabinet is very cute indeed - what a gorgeous colour you painted it!!! And the mini bunting is super-cute!!!
Thank you for injecting some colour into my pale Thursday!!!

  25. Words cannot describe how utterly brilliant this is. The colour, the paper, the pretty things it now holds... I love it! I have a dresser which I want to paint but unfortunately I've been ill on and off since October so I haven't got round to it. Plus I still haven't decided on a colour! I'll get round to it eventually though.

  26. Absolutely love it!
I like to paint with absolutely no prep and just hope for the best.
I have furniture with preserved spiders set in peachy gloss.
Love your Staffordshire jars, I am offering a similar one on a giveaway...pop yourself into the draw!

  27. Stunning, glad you kept the lid on the white and went for Thunderbird.
I'm an all or nothing painter, used to paint everything that stood still and I'm sorely itching to paint the three things that Mr Bun likes in their wooden state.

  30. Looks lovely. I too bought a bargain cupboard today -a 1930's type one for all my linen I have just taken out of my new sewing place. I had mine home, cleaned and lined out with paper and filled with linen by nine tonight!
I love the blue on yours- great work!

  31. Defo a nifty swifty its a standing joke in our house - don't stand still for too long or you will be painted. K is sometimes not sure I should do it (paint stuff) but do you know what I do it when he is out - there - i'm a painting rebel. I'm in the mood at the moment to paint shiny red gloss that could be fun and a little messy - i'm off to Wilko's in about 10 mins to get some paint.

  32. I accidentally stumbled upon your blog while searching for Valentine's Day lesson ideas (You had a post with the book Olive, My Love). I was immediately drawn in to your cheerful, charming style and abandoned my lesson plan search. Then, I noticed that you had Bluebird Notes on your blogroll (a blog I have followed for over two years). It was just a crazy "small world" moment for me.
I've decided to follow your blog because I love what I'm seeing here!
