Sometimes you need a project that you can just pick up and not think about too much......I can't read crochet patterns very well....(I'm working on that) but in the meantime I just like going round and round...
It grows so fast that I had to start another blanket......this is for #1's bedroom so am trying 'very' hard to not put any pink in..........in fact I have made so many blankets now that when we went to my Mums in the holidays I left a couple on their bunk beds, much to my Mums amusement as it was my lovely Mum who taught me how to crochet :)

I'm doing exactly the same thing right now whilst watching back to back episodes of 'The Killing' - Elaine x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! There is a really easy peasy round and round one for a rectangle granny too. Let me know if you want the link. x
ReplyDeleteI can't read patterns either, love the therepeutic mindless ness of just doing the same stitch over and over, and i love doing it whilst watching mad men too!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know I'm not the only that avoids housework by doing other much more pleasurable things. Love the blankets!

Ooh yes, I'm fancying that very much! This 'sticking to one or two WIPs at a time' business is driving me nuts so I may squeeze in something similar.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm still getting sooo many compliments on the little messenger bag you made me. It's definitely my favourite summer essential ♥

What fun...your blankets are amazingly beautiful! If only I could go round and round..I don't have that talent. Off to take a peek in your shop right now...xoxox HUGS
ReplyDelete:) Grown up duties are so boring, aren't they! I'm supposed to be cleaning the bathroom at the moment but I'd rather be in blogland!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous crochet!
I'm so happy to find someone else who is into Madmen, I love the clothes and Don Draper! your blanket is so bright and cheery...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteLove the blanket!!
ReplyDeleteI was so chuffed when I realised I could crochet without looking as I have fond memories of my Mum doing it!! (She can also knit super quick without looking as well - I'm working on that!!)

If you need digging out from under the pile of fabric, I'll come round without hesitation.
ReplyDeleteIt may take a while to rescue you though, as I stop to admire each piece as I move it out of the way!
It's gorgeous!! Mine is almost finished as well... I love the use of one color per row... I'm going to remember that for my next blanket (which will be for my home and will have some softer/greyer hues than the one I made for our '70 bus)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! We had lots of blankets like that when I was a child, but with a lot less pretty colours in them.
ReplyDeletelooking forward to avoiding the grown up jobs with you tomorrow! shame we can't watch mad men at the same time but think we may need to concentrate!
ReplyDeleteget going with that blanket for #1 - not long now before he asks for something black!!!

ps reckon you'd still speak to me in a rain hat...it's how you wear it!
pps who else you gonna speak to!!!!
Very nice blankets. And you're right about them being perfect for making while you're watching telly!
ReplyDeleteme too- sometimes i love projects where i don't have to think too hard :)
ReplyDeletelove your blankets !!
I need to start another blanket but I went to my yarn shop yesterday and it was shut for the day! This evening my DH looked at me and said "you look all wrong.......... you aren't doing anything!" (he meant not knitting, crocheting or sewing - a rare occurrence indeed)

Oh - just gorgeous! I *must* learn to crochet!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is lovely. I can do a granny stripe mindlessly but I cannot do anything that goes round and round and has increases. Somehow that just throws me off. I tried to do a dishcloth in the rounds last nite and that drove me bonkers! Have a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteYou've used such lovely colour combinations in each one.

These afghans are absolutely gorgeous!! I have been searching high and low for a pattern to create one myself and came across your blog after searching all over the internet... are they different than a traditional granny square, or do they just appear different to me? Is there any way you could tell me the pattern/stitch sequence for how you made these? I would be SO grateful as I hope to make an afghan for my friend who's expecting a little boy in December. My email is carehunny@gmail.com and would so appreciate any help you can give! Thank you!!
