Sometimes you need a project that you can just pick up and not think about too much......I can't read crochet patterns very well....(I'm working on that) but in the meantime I just like going round and round...
It's mindless, therapeutic, it grows fast and best of all I don't even have to look much to see what I'm doing..which means I can watch Madmen at the same time :)
It grows so fast that I had to start another blanket......this is for #1's bedroom so am trying 'very' hard to not put any pink in..........in fact I have made so many blankets now that when we went to my Mums in the holidays I left a couple on their bunk beds, much to my Mums amusement as it was my lovely Mum who taught me how to crochet :)
......when I'm not going round and round you can find me most days buried under a pile of fabric... in other words avoiding housework and other grown up duties :)x x x x x x x x x x x

It's gorgeous!! Mine is almost finished as well... I love the use of one color per row... I'm going to remember that for my next blanket (which will be for my home and will have some softer/greyer hues than the one I made for our '70 bus)

I need to start another blanket but I went to my yarn shop yesterday and it was shut for the day!This evening my DH looked at me and said "you look all wrong.......... you aren't doing anything!" (he meant not knitting, crocheting or sewing - a rare occurrence indeed)

ReplyDeleteYour blanket is lovely. I can do a granny stripe mindlessly but I cannot do anything that goes round and round and has increases. Somehow that just throws me off. I tried to do a dishcloth in the rounds last nite and that drove me bonkers! Have a great day. Tammy

These afghans are absolutely gorgeous!! I have been searching high and low for a pattern to create one myself and came across your blog after searching all over the internet... are they different than a traditional granny square, or do they just appear different to me? Is there any way you could tell me the pattern/stitch sequence for how you made these? I would be SO grateful as I hope to make an afghan for my friend who's expecting a little boy in December.
