We visited a 'discover vintage' fair yesterday, one that travels around the country. I was hoping it may have had Teawagon potential and also maybe some little treasures, I did buy some vintage pillowcases and a 1934 postcard to someone called Betty from York. But the size of the fair and the fact that the stalls had to work around the awkward spaces of the indoor market it was held in meant it's probably not for us, but will check out the other venues, I live in hope that there is something out there that doesn't resemble 'Royston Vasey' on bad day.

Our first field trip this morning. First, we snuck around our local market, surreptitiously measuring the trestles and frames - when the teawagon travels, we want to have the best-dressed stall in town! Next, we headed into the country, officially to check out some local competition but luckily there happened to be a tea room next to the showroom - experts tell us that regular doses of cake improve both the critical and creative faculties and, judging by how critical and creative we were for the next twenty minutes, we believe them.

Distraction...
We had the second meeting for TEAWAGON today, this time was all about the colour and our sign/banner. Lots of time was spent rifling through the lovely fabric cupboard seen in the last post.We now have two pieces of furniture ready to be turned in to TEAWAGON lovelies, then spent a lot of time drooling over my favourite book of the moment 'cool caravans' which is a lot better than it sounds! Full of customised homes on wheels with lots of gingham curtains and turquoise enamel ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh x x x

As for big teawagon... keep watching, another meeting tommorrow.

Teawagons and Felt
Bought our first Teawagon item yesterday, too large to bring home ourselves
so taking delivery on Tuesday!! All very exciting.
At first I was planning where it would go in my already stuffed full of 'stuff' home but Jane pointed out it would be a Teawagon purchase and that she will counsel me in 'letting go' of these lovely things when the time comes! We also visited an Art festival in Chorlton and had some thoughts about where we would exhibit our things, and had an idea about holding some workshops after a really rude stallholder tried to force us onto her felt making course! x
