where has the sun gone?

...last week whizzed by in the blink of an eye....as the end of a school year comes hurtling towards me I am feeling like I need to get stitching before time runs out and my days are spent entertaining two boys for the summer..

I am planning lots of day trips, picnics and crafty stuff ...they are planning sleepovers...sleep ins..eating...making a mess and noise....I'm hoping we can meet in the middle :)

...so I made the most of some quiet time last week and made some more patchy teawagon blankets...

available here
they are making me feel quite summery despite the rain :)

...in the days before school finishes I'm planning to make the most of my alone time and sew up a few more bits and list some fabrics..

I noticed a few weeks ago that I had passed my two year shop and blog anniversary and also gained some lovely new followers so I am planning a little giveaway to say a big thank you :)

happy monday

  2. I keep hoping if I have kids over the others will reciprocate....thank goodness some do!
I feel like with all 3 of them home I can't keep my house clean but Fall will come and all will be quiet again when they are back in school!
Your kids are still in school though.....enjoy your peace and quiet Jane!
    Your blankets are beautiful...

  7. Why oh why is it that I can get such pleasure from just looking at lovely fabrics all patched together. They look gorgeous Jane and like a lot of work went into them. I find the cutting alone enough reason to nearly give up before I've started, but the end result is always worth it.

Can't believe you've been in these parts for two years now, my goodness me. Happy days. Giveaway sounds a fabulous idea, great for the winner :) and sulky times for the rest of us :(

  8. Hi Jane, I know what you mean, I love the summer holidays but it is easier when the sun shines, like you I am making the most of Quiet Crafty Time. I have mentioned you on my blog if you get chance to pop over. Unfortunately, and I am still not sure what I did, I erased a post and mucked up the order of the others! So if you read 1st July first, then 6th July which was actually posted today! Why do I make my life soooo complicated!!! Anyway, the little bag I made was adapted from one of your designs. Phew! You must think I'm a nutter! Ada ;)

  13. Very pretty... and just a note about the stickers on previous post? Paperchase do sell some online, but sadly NOT the lovely ones you showed....how annoying. My nearest Paperchase is an hour and a half away.Living in the sticks is lovely but just sometimes you wish you were nearer a big town or city. Never mind. Thanks for sharing anyway.

  17. Yes indeed....where HAS the sun gone? Dull, grey and dreary....not how we should be describing our summer....that's for sure. I just love your giant patchy quilts.....I have a small stash of fabric that I don't really know what to with....it just doesn't seem right for any project.....but seeing your lovely blanket/quilts makes me think that something like that might just be the ticket.....it would be the perfect project to do with my Big Miss over the holidays to practice her sewing machine skills.....thanks for the brilliant idea to use up said fabric stash, clear out a cupboard, spend some time with Big Miss.....and get a beautiful blanket to boot! 20. Hi Jane, I am so excited, I have just dragged my very own tea trolley home, in the rain I may add, from the charity shop! I have been looking for some more storage for my ever growing fabric stash and this is perfect! Only problem is, how do I keep a mischievous cat from curling up on my lovely piles of fabric! Ada :)
